This floral print series, titled Cait Courneya x Munster Rose, makes a long overdue update to the floral art print. It is available for a select time at and Want to know how it all happened? Read the full story below.

It all started with a wall problem

We all have “that wall.” It needs something, but you can’t figure out what. So did Jackie Reisenauer, creative director at Munster Rose, whose new office space in St. Paul had a problematic wall.

“I was having trouble finding the right art to hang on our main office wall. If I love it, it’s really expensive. If it’s affordable, it looks mass produced,” says Jackie. “And, as a florist, I love the idea of a floral print, but typical floral prints are so overdone.”

Then, while thumbing through a lookbook for one of her favorite local shops, Parc Boutique, she stumbled onto something special.

What was it?

The delicate, but bold brushwork of artist Cait Courneya, whose illustrations populated the pages of the lookbook.

“I fell in love,” says Jackie. “Then immediately followed Cait on Instagram.”

A collaboration that bloomed naturally

Friends first on Instagram, months later they serendipitously ran into each other at an industry event. Jackie asked Cait about making custom floral artwork for her office.

Says Cait, “I’ve always been inspired by the delicacy of flowers. And have long been an admirer of Jackie’s floral design work, so when Jackie mentioned she was looking for original art, I was beyond excited to make a modern, fresh botanical piece.”

Soon they were lunching, meeting together and exchanging inspiration via email. All for a large custom artwork that would serve as the centerpiece in the new Munster Rose offices in St. Paul.

“We used one of her signature flowers, cabbage roses, as the main inspiration,” says Cait. “We also decided the paintings should be black and white. It gives them a graphic look that appeals to both the modern design lover and the traditionalist.”

After finally completing the piece, they finally hung it on the wall, stood back and said to each other: “Let’s make more of these.”

The rest is history…
