“Do this!” she said, showing us a picture of a vintage pickup loaded up with flowers.
“Vroom-vroom!” we said.
And so began our 18-month planning process with the lovely Ms. Jane.
For their wedding, Jane and her fiance, Peter, wanted an elaborate event filled with personal touches. But they also wanted guests to feel relaxed and comfortable.
“On lake time,” in their words.
They’d chosen not to host their guests in a hotel in the city, but at the groom’s parents’ home on a lovely lake in northern Minnesota.
This couple (and their wonderful families) spent a lot of time creating, and in many cases building, details that totally personalized their wedding.
A couple of our favorites:
1. Guests were greeted with a backyard beverage bar.
2. The bride and groom wed on hand-built stage.
3. One of the reception tents housed a massive hand-built bar.
In other words, lots of handmade! And lots of awesome.
To accent all of these thoughtful elements with floral. Not too fancy, not too casual. What we call “lake time extravagance.”
In the end, it was a great day at the lake. For us, for the guests, and for the newlyweds.
